Back from China

So I got back from china on the 23rd but I been lazy to update this blog. So heres a long over due update of what happened.



In this picture, my mom, dad and I are climbing the Great Wall. I was a lot harder then I expected. From far away it doesn't look that big but when you're actually walking on it, its another story.



At night we stopped by a tourist location in downtown Beijing. The setup on the ceiling is similar to the one in Las Vegas but this one is smaller. During the Olympics, people would gather and lay on the floor to watch the games.

For some reason, the frog with a coin in its mouth is really popular in China. I'm not too sure what it means or stands for.

The building behind me is where Chairman Mao is preserved in some kind of chamber. It was not open so we could not go look.

This tree in this picture is where one of the emperor hung himself when the capital was invaded.

At night we went to a show where the performers were all kids pretty much. They were probably no older then 18 years old. The picture below is a girl balancing a huge flower pot with a grown man inside.






This guy is 80 years old. His daughter is 18 years old. I'll post up a a video of his performance when I upload it from my camcorder.

So here is the delayed update of my trip to Beijing. The plane ride to Beijing took about 3 hours and the ride there was not pleasant at all. The turbulence was crazy and the pilot was crazy. Chinese people should not be allowed to pilot aircrafts. The food there was not as good as I've expected. But overall, it was a pretty good trip and I learned about the chinese history.

I finally found one, this one was alot cleaner then I've expected. I also found one that was all stainless steel but couldn't take a picture of it.

weathere sucks

well, I'm back at the airport waiting to go to Shanghai. The weather in Hong Kong is cool but very humid. It is the most uncomfortable feeling ever when you wake up. My sciatic nerve is starting to act up again so the past few days, I've been laying in bed. Man I cant wait to go back to work, I feel like such a bum.

no internet

I got to Hong Kong safely after a crazy 16 hour flight. The seating was more compact then what I had anticipated but good thing I am a twig. When I got off the plane, everything smelled like food. It was definitely weird seeing so many asian people gathered in one spot. It was much different then chinatown. The street signs and and traffic signals are so low, it almost felt like I was a walking giant. The people here wear the weirdest things but I'm pretty sure they had the same view about my sense of fashion. Everything is completely opposite compared to the U.S. When going up the stairs, people here walk on the left side instead of the right. Everyone drives on the left side of the road and the driver sits on the right side of the car. I am staying at my grandma's place in Kwai Fong.

-Thus far, the family and I went to grab some dim sum at a local restaurant.

-Took the train to Tsuen Wan and Sham Shui Po. The subway looks so clean compared to anywhere else I've seen. Their system is similar to the metro card system. You purchase a card and you wave it across the yellow becon by the turnstyle.

Unfortunately there is no available internet access so I was unable to provide minute-to-minute updates. Right now, I am at the Hong Kong International Airport waiting for my flight to leave to Beijing.
